earl grey cake

Ingredients:

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 2 tbsp Earl Grey tea leaves

- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 2 large eggs

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1/2 cup milk

- 2 tsp baking powder

- 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.

2. Mix the flour and Earl Grey tea leaves together in a small bowl and set aside.

3. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and then stir in the vanilla extract.

5. Add the flour and tea mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.

6. Stir in the baking powder and salt.

7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.

8. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

9. Serve with whipped cream or enjoy it as is.
